826 Key West: Jinx

Brand Identity—2019

BRIEF
826 National is a nonprofit tutoring and writing center for students ages 6 to 18. But the catch is, each center has a shop upfront all in different themes, pirates, robots, etc. 826 is currently located in nine cities across the country, my task was to brand a new 826 location—Key West. Key West is an eclectic city with a rich and quirky history.

APPROACH
JiNX is a superstition shoppe for kids and cats alike. The 826 tutoring center teaches kids to be explorative, curious, and wildly imaginative. Superstition umbrellas, cat tarot cards, mystery books, and a black cat adoption day reveal the play that is associated with story telling and tutoring.

WHAT I LEARNED
Risograph printing is a great tool and sometimes playful brands are the most effective.
